Class Descriptions ...
All our classes offer introduction to yoga philosophy and incorporate
the use of Ujjayi breath with heartfelt spirituality.
Private instruction is also available.
Vinyasa Flow: Flowing sequence; offers options and modifications for all levels of practioner, with minimal pause for demonstration.
Prenatal Yoga: For pregnant women with or without any yoga experience.
Yoga Basics: Highly recommended for students new to yoga, yet run as an ongoing, drop-in class. Emphasizes basic postures that build core strength and flexibility.
All Levels: Designed to support and encourage all levels of practitioners. Beginners receive instruction and help appropriate to their level, while experienced students are offered more challenging variations of poses. Key to attending this class is a capability to pace oneself while finding the presented options inspiring. Teachers will cater the level of students present. The 2.5-hour class is not recommended for students who are new to yoga as it tends to be the most challenging All-Level class, due in part to its length.
Purna Practice: Purna... Sanskrit for full or complete. This all-levels practice allows extra time to deepen your experience. The class will be taught with the intention of giving something to every student to help advance their practice, regardless of level. The expectation is that everyone present, regardless of capacity, will give their full attention and efforts to what is offered.
Lila Practice. Lila... Sanskrit for playful. This practice is led by Kelley Ingols and/or Joni Haug. It is for dedicated students who can take a greater responsibility for their own limitations while engaging a safe willingness to deeply expand them; it is not appropriate for beginning/basic level students. Please have an understanding of Anusara Yoga’s five Universal Principles of Alignment. This class will play with all poses from the Anusara Yoga syllabus.
Intermediate: For continuing students who have a good understanding of the basics. This class incorporates more complex and difficult postures as well as creatively linked sequences; classes can be demanding and thus require a high level of studentship. We prefer that you have attended either Yoga Basics or All Levels for a minimum of 6 months.
Intermediate / Advanced: For students with a good knowledge of the Anusara Yoga® Universal Principles of Alignment. This class will explore advanced variations of the whole spectrum of asanas. We prefer that you can do headstand free-standing, urdhva dhanurasana, and kick up into handstand at the wall without assistance. This class is not appropriate for beginners. If you are unsure whether this class is right for you, ask the instructors before attending.
